Traditional insurance doesn’t make sense for people who don’t drive much. With By Miles, a fixed annual cost covers the car while it’s parked, then customers just pay for the miles they drive each month.
Insurtech Gateway incubated By Miles in 2017, following on with investment up to their £15m Series B round in 2020. Direct Line Group acquired By Miles – having sold over 100,000 policies to c.50,000 customers, writing £26m of Gross Written Premium – in 2023.
